Veterans
Related: About this forumSeeking vet friend from long ago
When I was in college in the early to mid-70's, I hung out with a group of vets, some Viet Nam, some other places but the same time period. I would love to find a couple of them as they were very important to me, but then I moved across the country. I do not know where to start. A basic search of their names with Viet Nam veteran doesn't give me much.
Search shows me a lot of sites, but many seem basic people search with payments required. Is there a site you'd recommend or a way to search otherwise?
Thank you.

(68,644 posts)Selective Service numbers would trace back to place of residence, I think, then check veterans' groups local to that home address?
I don't know. I guess we/they enjoyed an anonymity that we don't today.
Good, bad, who knows.
Good luck.

(115,844 posts)A very conflicted but very fair caring person. I will check about another as he may have been. Thank you for the link. It was a long time ago and I never did let them know what they meant to the younger coming of age me. As I am aging, am thinking of it all again.
