Hey brothers

Awoke this morning around 0200 could not get back sleep. Stopped trying to fight going back to sleep slipped out bed as not awake the wife or at times I call her first sgt when she is in mood. Example when I do not make bed after last one up at times she will say you were 3 years army infantry. Did you not ever make your bed then I replied no I'd just roll up my poncho liner stick it my ruck dear . Anyway got up brushed teeth rolled into planet fitness and met a retired LTC CAV TROOPER I jokingly said Garry Owen to him. He commented on my t shirt I had on it is one I bought on line has EIB EXPERT INFANTRY BADGE I told him I served 84 to 87 and my platoon sgt pushed us go to EIB program. On treadmill we started talking place was empty we talked trump. The retired lite colonel is very anti trump so goes to show to all vets there are officers who are smart.

I have a display case with my Dad's medals and awards from WWII. Along with his Bronze Star is a badge with an antique rifle surrounded by a wreath (no stars). I thought it was the Combat Infantry Badge but maybe not. In any case thank you for your williness to serve. I am in the middle of 5 generations of veterans. We have served in the Navy, Marines, Army and Air Force. I guess we've covered all branches since they moved the Coast Guard to Homeland Security. Maybe one of my grandsons or daughters will join the Coast Guard so we can have a complete set.

your father and his generation saved the world. And today we have a fascist crap bag that the greatest generation fought against hitler Tojo.

I think the sense of humor comes from the fact that in a airborne unit a infantry private you don't have any choices. You are expendable and the new guy. You volunteered to Be there and when you fuck up you get smoked.

Guys who get pissed off don't make it a lot of times. Those dudes stand out like a neon sign and they'll either change thru smoke sessions or remedial training or they quit and go to another unit or MOS.
