Veterans
Related: About this forumJust gotta brag for a moment - I'm featured in a VoteVets.org ad!
https://m.My mom always told me I was the prettiest little soldier boy in the U.S. Army Infantry, but I never expected to be on the TV!
Seriously though, it was a great experience being filmed and interviewed for a commercial. Votevets contracted the filming and production part out to a company that does political ads and they were great to work with. Every single line in the ad they had me say probably 100 times, each in a different way.
Anyways, I just had to show off!

(21,646 posts)It's nice to put a face with the poster . Looking good ! Thank you for making the film, sounds tedious so thank you and I'm going to show it to some vets who use the VA and need the VA to stay the VA . I think you know what I mean . It should remain for the armed forces . Private vouchers can not replace it . Many veterans would not do some well in a generic for profit medical setting with specific issues and coordination needs the VA is experienced in. And as you mentioned as important , associating with out patients who were also veterans could be absent . VA needs to remain specialized and not outsourced.

(18,669 posts)You did a great job on this ad. It is strong, sincere, heartfelt. And yeah, you are one fine looking soldier! Thank you for all you have done and continue to do. You will make a bigger difference with this one ad than most of us do over a life time. Well done, young man.

(7,910 posts)Privatizing the VA would be an absolute disaster and with Trump and Co in charge it will be their best shot at having this occur. All the auxiliary Vet support orgs physically in each facility would disappear. Plus where would we get a cheap meal, lol?

(10,891 posts)Way to go Victor. I received the best care at the Ann Arbor VA. Had an open heart surgery for a quad bypass. The innovative way they preformed it saved my life.
The For Profit hospital I was taken to immediately after my TIA (small stroke that resolved itself) told me to get my shit in order, had no hope of surgery. I have very bad veins for the graft.
THAT WAS SIX YEARS AGO!
Privatize my ass.
