(6,450 posts)There is only one friend of my dads left. He is 90, and all of his friends and family are now gone.

(8,513 posts)When the last of my aunts died, I told my brother, "We're next. We're the next tier." I don't know if he really comprehended that we just became the oldest in the family. It was an uncomfortable feeling for a little while, but that's the way it is.
