I think I remember mine arrived within a few weeks of end of 6 month period.

(23,156 posts)I turn 65 next month, and I applied on-line (from work, I hasten to add) in June. It arrived in about two weeks.
In my case I have a part time job at a hospital that has very good benefits, so I only signed up for part A. All of the choices involved when I eventually leave the job and will have to consider my choices for the other parts gives me a headache.

(23,156 posts)your other insurance will always come first, and Medicare will be used to cover what the other one doesn't.
I'm not 100% clear on how it works, even though I work in a hospital and formerly registered outpatients (now I'm the information desk person). Basically I am extremely healthy and almost never make use of health insurance, so I tend to be very befuddled about it all.
Or, as I like to brag, I have the Republican Health Care Plan. Never get sick.
