Beautiful indeed. However, forested land brings at best 5-800 bucks/acre. Good farmland maybe 1000. House does not look spectacular.
It will sell for half the asking price.....unless a 212 comes up and wants a little personal museum...then it could sell for more.

there is an inside story that goes along with it... the land is priced artificially high for "reasons"... but, that aside... I would love the land... I am being tugged more and more these days and have to come up with practical plan

I've got the experience, skill and energy... my kids are in (unfortunately, they are no wealthier than me)... I continue to look for less expensive property... I love my few acres in Northern Vermont when I can get there but it is not suitable for any farming
it does have the best water in the entire world though...

But I'm always looking at land for sale...always. There's 2000 acres for sale near here I would love to get. Just imagine the possibilities - caves, bluffs, waterfalls.....sigh.

I don't want "so much land" for my very own... I am more of the mindset that we don't 'own' the land; we are merely caretakers while we are here.

I would love to be able to collectively 'own' as much land as possible to nurture and protect. I would like to be able to manage organic market gardens and small fruits and (even though I am a vegetarian; I given this a lot of thought) I would like to raise organic pigs and eggs for those who do still eat meat. I have farmed in the past (both communally and by myself) and therein lies my true passion. I have raised brood sows, grown gardens, had 11 bee hives at one point and have much experience. I have 4 acres in northern Vermont but it is not suitable for any kind of agricultural venture (see photo above) and my partner and I had bought 5 acres and buildings in Michigan a couple of years back with a grandiose plan of letting my sister live there and work it until we could afford to quit our current job but... (very, very long story) it turned into the worst kind of nightmare and we just sold it at an approx. 60k loss (pretty much all we had)!

I will not be defeated though and am now beginning to search and plan for the day I can farm again. The reason I posted the initial listing is because of the irony of my situation... my son's grandparents own it and it is just a fantasy...

my story is long and I may someday write it all down but for now, I work (travel the U.S.) and dream of the day I can play in the dirt, sleep with the sows giving birth, collect the eggs from my chickens and watch the gardens turn bountifully green in the summer...
