My car got totaled on my birthday. Have entered Dante's ninth hell...

A driver decided to turn into the left side of my car as I was driving through an intersection. Worse, she told the Fla. Highway Patrol and me that she thought she was going straight. Her blind brother in the passenger seat informed her that he felt her turn into the turn lane.

Happily nobody was hurt, but sure leaves me holding the bag: She was in a Dodge Caravan and was able to drive away after being ticketed. I'm without a car and shopping online is a pain. Haven't been able to sleep or eat since. My car is at an auction lot in Jacksonville being sold as salvage.

It can take YEARS for cases to get settled. Hopefully the other driver had insurance and the OP had insurance as well. Thank goodness no one was hurt.

6. A birthday to remember 😡

Left turns are the most dangerous, imo. My bil got t-boned making a left turn with the light..someone tried to run their red light. I don’t care how many people are honking their horns, I don’t make a left turn until I look both ways..especially at traffic lights as it seems too many try to beat the light. Glad you are ok for your birthday.

9. I got in an accident in So Florida a few years ago. Totally the other guys fault. They said it was my fault..

My dash cam said otherwise. Cop gave them the ticket and I had my insurance company sue their insurance company. Got the check in about 2 mos...
Glad you were not hurt and good luck with the new car. Buying is tough these days. Dealers suck..

The worst car thing that happened to me on a birthday was when I was borrowing a car from a friend and somebody stole it from in front of my house!

It was found in Chula Vista as stripped down carcass. I was so upset. Hope this turns out to be something better than you can imagine at the moment.

where speed limits and red lights are merely suggestions. My wife thinks I'm over cautious but I tell her, "If we're in an accident and hospitalized, what happens with our blind dog?" Is better to be safe than sorry I think.

I used to count to 3 bfore crossing an intersection on a light, now it's full on 5.
