Has anyone tried those glasses that are supposed to help you see better to drive at night?

If so, how was your experience with them?

(A friend of mine gave me a pair saying they didn't help her. I haven't tried them yet because I rarely go out at night.)

1. The yellow tinted ones? Didn't really help me, but try them. Apparently helps some.

The newer car lights at night just blind me and since I've been using the yellow tinted glasses - I don't get blindsided anymore. I think they're great.

Those new car lights are still bright - but they get muted by the yellow tint and they really remind me of the conventional headlights we been used to before they sprang these LED's on us.

I recommend!!!

3. Have had same experience. They really help me against those halogen (?) headlights and glare

I live in a small desert city, pretty rural and not a lot of light, but plenty of wildlife. They help cut glare from oncoming headlights, and the few streetlights here, while sharpening details so I can see coyotes, deer, antelope running across the roads. I like them, but the, I am VERY light sensitive so anything that cuts glare and dims bright lights helps me immensely at night.

I wear distance glasses when driving, and they perch comfortably over my glasses. I did put a strap on them so I can take them off in a hurry when in areas with a LOT of artificial light, such as some of our busy intersections.

They do everything they advertise.

Great for driving at night and work well in sunlight.

You can also get an attachment for your visor and do away with the glasses.

5. I find them especially helpful

in rainy, foggy conditions. Don't drive much at night so can't comment on that part. I do endorse them however for the above conditions.

6. I hate driving at night...

my night vision has really gone to pot since getting older. I bought a pair of the glasses you're talking about and found they really did help me... for all the reasons mentioned in the other messages. They helped -a lot- with these stupidly bright halogen lights coming at you from on coming cars. And I can't recommend them enough when it comes to driving in the rain or snow. They are REALLY good in bad weather. I don't think they ever mentioned that on the ads, but they should have!

I'm interested in finding one of the visor clip-ons. I'm wearing glasses (regular) to drive now, and I'd rather have the visor than try to find a clip-on for my regular glasses.

I recommend them! And find they do just what they were said to do, and more. Really surprised me!

7. I use them, and not just at night...

They have similar effects on cloudy days. UV penetrates clouds well and those glasses help soften that.

Not enough for bright, sunny days, but here in western WA, they're really helpful in spring and fall when we get plenty of overcast days.

I don't drive after dark but I use them when it is dim and they help, especially at dusk.

9. This is the first I've heard of these!

They sound intriguing. What are they called? And what if you wear prescription lenses - can you wear these over your prescription glasses?

Those halogen lights coming at me out of the dark are the bane of my existence when it comes to driving at night. I've gotten to where I avoid driving after dark as much as possible, but having to do so is very inconvenient during all those months when the days are short. I would welcome anything that would make it easier.

10. I am going to try my yellow lenses one

more time. They helped with the lights but made other things harder to see. Maybe I didn't give them a fair chance.
