Related: About this forumIs it a sign of getting older if I don't like to wear jeans any more? I prefer to wear
slacks with an elastic waistband.

(5,196 posts)I've gotten so that I dislike wearing a bra around the house and have given up the habit.

(10,044 posts)But I always wear one when I go out because my clothes look better....except in winter when I wear a coat, I might not wear one.
Bras seem to make my posture a bit better....

(5,196 posts)but for some reason, after a while I find them constricting around the chest.
The obvious answer would be ill-fitting.
I usually order from a catalogue because the size I need is not easily obtainable and when I do find one in a store it is often built like a piece of armament.
I don't like underwires; catalogues are about the only place to find my size without an underwire.

(30,947 posts)I love the Pajama Jeans. Since I have been retired, most of my jeans don't fit around the waist anymore because I have been lazy and do not get enough exercise. I have to lie on my back to zip them up. Pajama Jeans are great because they are really stretchy and slip on easily even after washing.

As I get older, I need one a LOT more than I did at 25. Or younger. In those days I'd go braless and looked quite good.
I still wear jeans and other slacks with a real waistband.
I'm 65, if that matters.

(5,196 posts)Several of us perhaps have come to the conclusion that, at least in the privacy of the home, comfort is more important.
For the record, I'm past 65 and have no intentions of partnering again in this lifetime.

(7,506 posts)I don't care for the 'elastic all-around' slax but sure like the type that have elastic on the sides.

(31,457 posts)And no, I don't buy them too tight, I'll go too loose before too tight.
(Psst. but my waist left too.)

(10,044 posts)and more men are wearing them too...
Anybody who's had surgery, cesareans, or a weight problem doesn't give a hoot if it's a sign of age, bad taste, or anything.
Couch potatoes of any age wear them...notice the cotton pants with comic book and superheros, football, basketball and baseball teams colors and logos - all are fancy and have elastic waists....and guys and gals wear them in their yards, across the street, to the store for pizza, etc. I guess it depends on where you live, though.
Jeans started to be painful years ago. Enjoy your pants, I do.

(1,157 posts)Years ago I bought nurse's uniform wear from Dollar General to try out as PJs. Elastic waist, lots of big pockets, light weight cotton, and very comfortable. When I retired I bought several outfits since we don't have Dollar General in my retirement area. I wear them for both night and day wear while at home.
