1. OMG...

Had everyone of his poetry books when I was in college in the late 60s. I was mesmerized!

2. That would be me, for one.

His voice, his music, his poetry, his calm and comforting presence...man, what memories! He saw me through many a lonely time back then. I still have his albums, and was playing them recently.

Thank you for this post and for the reminder of that long-ago time when he gently lifted my spirit by his words and tunes. What a joy you've brought me, along with a flood of peaceful memories.

4. I have several of his books

that belonged to my folks back in the late 60’s early 70’s... I loved them then and love them still.

5. When I was in my 20s, many years ago, a woman almost twice my age introduced me to him.

It was a very interesting summer.
I will say no more.

12. I remember one of his poems that cracked me up

something about a white night and his lady love riding away on a horse, and then the last line that
they would have lived forever if the horse had not stopped in front of the dragon's door.

7. Oh no!

I thought he sucked - well, his "poetry" did, anyway. Guess I'm an outlier here. So smarmy, and not very good at it.

I was more of an Erica Jong or Sylvia Plath kinda girl.

As an English major, I should have thought similarly but all I remember is he could set a mood like nobody else.

8. He did a concert

with my symphony. We played as he read poetry. I do not remember him socializing like do many do but that was so long ago.

9. Oh, yes!

So many hours spent listening to his first 2 albums. He warmed this young girl's heart. All too soon I discovered reality wasn't going to ever be like his visions, though. Sigh....
