Spiffies were THE answer.

(23,762 posts)The only odd things we had were elastic bands to make the fatigue uniform trousers look as if they were tucked into the boots. When I wore a class-A uniform, I tied the tie, and the collars were free to do what they wanted.
Bad enough we had to deal with shoe polish and Brasso. No collar stays.
