Senior Safe Driving Overload

My state, PA, allows a discount on car insurance for seniors who have completed a safe driving course. Trouble is, you have to complete a new course every 3 years! In my early 60s, I have no problems driving. But every 3 years I have to pay a company, a state contractor, who probably lobbied until their ears turned blue, so I can complete their watered down course about how to drive a car. I'll be doing this for the rest of my life. Insurers accept this for a discount by state law. You can pass anything in PA. Anything that makes no sense and burdens people with more regulation they don't want or need. I hope to move away from this state one of these years. It is run, in my view, by lobbyists.

And, at least AARP is online.

Looks like discount is 5%, which ain’t a lot, but something.

Yes those others may also offer courses, but you have to go attend some or all of them.
