(5,000 posts)Have a Dec. 3 appointment at CVS for booster and flu shot. Also reached out to our county to see If I can get booster sooner. Sore arm with Moderna 1 and was tired for a day and sore arm with Moderna #2.

(32,835 posts)My mother advised me it was the best way to remember if I had received it. Helps that my birthday is the right time of year.

Second day, back to normal.

(13,394 posts)For about a week, our county offered full strength red shots before the C.D.C. green lighted boosters.
Now they are only giving booster.

(6,675 posts)flu so can't say if it was like that. But knocked me for a loop for several days. Never had a reaction to a vaccine either. Maybe a fluke.

(5,113 posts)Very achy joints and pretty bad Covid arm from the second one.
Got her booster last week and the nurse recommended she get the Pfizer after hearing about her experience with the first two shots. No reaction at all to the Pfizer. She is thrilled.

(11,543 posts)And that was only a sore arm for three days.

(16,522 posts)By Saturday, my arm hurt like hell and I was achy. I just stayed in bed and took a couple of left-over Norcos from some dental work I had a while back. By yesterday (Sunday) I was fine. It was so much better than the second Modera shot and totally worth it. Oh, and most everyone else I know who got their boosters did much better than I did and had no side effects.

(34,069 posts)Got the last one yesterday, the senior flue. Had all three modern, shingle and now the flue. Pretty much no reaction, illness or pain in arm on all of them. For years I have always rubbed the injection site for 10 to 15 minutes after any vaccine shot. I'm sure any reaction to a vaccine would be far less than having any of the viruses.
Go for it and let us know how it went.

(5,196 posts)Local news says most places are busy; appts. needed rather than walk-ins.
Last spring I went to an indoor drive-thru at University Hospital.
No after-effects either time.
Want to get Pfizer again.
I would prefer a medical facility to a pharmacy, as I trust their accuracy more than a pharmacy. I realize that mistakes have been few & far between, but...
Anyway, I need to do it and soon.

(136,043 posts)My first were via the county where I live, in a drive-thru facility; no medical facility.

(25,483 posts)Monday @ 1030 AM. So far, I just have a sore upper arm and a small knot at the injection site. I was advised to take Tylenol before I went. I think it's supposed to help with the inflammatory response.
IDK, for sure though.
So far so good. Time will tell and it's early yet in the process.
Good luck!

(5,627 posts)My Moderna booster only caused me a bit of tiredness. Went to bed early and was fine next day. Less reaction than second shot
Sedona
(3,818 posts)I'm a 59 year old female and had moderate reactions to Pfizer #1&2. Nothing debilitating. Low fever, mild body aches. Over within 24-36 hours.
The booster KICKED MY ASS.
I was in bed with 102 fever, chills, headache, and pretty harsh body aches within 24 hours of injection. Ibuprofin did little or nothing to relieve.
This went on for two days. It continued on and off for another two.
It sucked but I'm still glad I did it.
Mr Sedona had little or no reaction to all three Pfizer shots. Go figure...

(22,883 posts)My wife's arm is really sore and stiff. I'm without symptoms (so far).
I got very sick with flu-like symptoms after the second dose that lasted about 10-12 hours. My wife had the same stiffness in her arm. That was it.
Get the shot and good luck!
