I have ?'s re CD's and DVD's that I want to ask

somewhere where they won't product large guffaws at my techno-ignorance/innocence.

Here goes:

Can one distinguish a CD and DVD by looking at it?

If I put a DVD in my CD player will it play (of course I can't see anything, but will I hear the audio?)

If I put a DVD in my CD player will it harm it?

Remember -- no guffaws.
thanks.

Placed a CD into DVD player and it will play the CD {music}....
Placed a DVD {Video} in the CD player it will try to read it, but after a trial read it kicks it out and will advance to the next CD in the Queue
May work differently on other DVD players but, think not...should basically be the same.
The CD player is most likely just a basic (single purpose reader) built to only read a CD
Most Computer and Lap top readers will play both CD and DVD Duel/Multi - purpose reader and writers.

Doubt any type of damage.. It's a reader, if it's able to read the format it will...
I'm only formatted to read English... all others wrong format and I kick them out.

Hope this helps you out...
Regards
