My neurologist is pressing me to get MRI's of my cervical, thoracic, and lumbar (with and without contrast) spines to rule out or rule in problems which may be contributing to my increasing leg weakness.
After being unable to tolerate a similar procedure, I got an otder for Ativan and checked out an open MRI facility. Things were looking possible even though the procedures would take up to an hour for each section of the spine. Then I found out I would have to climb two steps and pivot into the machine with no assistance. I am currently using a walker to walk a few feet and have fallen the last times I tried to walk up steps without assistance. They informed me that their techs would not help me step up into the machine.
Modern medicine. Not for the mobility challenged.

(8,589 posts)assistance. It makes no sense to me that they won't help you into the machine.

I've always had assistance from a tech at any imaging facility if I needed it.
You should be able to bring someone with you to help you at least. Maybe they would rather be sued because they refused to help you.
