(15,081 posts)I have been staring at this poor baby's face trying to put into words how it makes me feel. I feel crushed.

(87,567 posts)It hurts doesn't it. Best way I can say it is my heart hurt as does my soul. Talk about a trail of tears and I in no way mean to take that away from Native Americans, I in no way wish to disrespect them. To many trails and so much pain and so much blood on our hands.
And we take a step forward and a giant leap backward but we never give up! We need to do better for all the world's children.
Thank you redwitch.

That is not the case, however.

I guess they all had no words either. How old? Two. Three at best?

(15,081 posts)How did anyone ever think it was ok for babies to work like that? My heart breaks for the poor mom whose life was so hard. If my babies had to work like that I don't know how I would keep getting up and living every day.

(87,567 posts)Yet my sisters, I could not have loved them more had they been my own. Now we have the next generation. The youngest nine months. I love them and wanted to leave them a better place. I guess we have more work to do and the clock is ticking for those of us that are just getting older.

(18,124 posts)for this photo....I have one of three "strange fruit" swinging in trees and will make one of this travesty of ameriKKKan life....and the wish of president bannon to put brown people BACK into the proverbial cotton field....am joy at this moment!!!!...'internment camp' mentioned for muslims......dangerous times....for the new n****** of the white supremacistameriKKKa......they came for the muslims, I said nothing....I was heartened by listening to a Swiss citizen talking last night about an Iraqi citizen saying to him....they are gladdened by real americans standing up for them in the our streets demonstrating and people in other countries around the world demonstrating against the trump admin..."muslim ban"...they know that millions of americans don't hate them and they are proud happy to learn of this fact.....keep resisting.... WE ARE THE REAL POWER in fighting the emerging ameriKKKa.....

(87,567 posts)I am frightened for our country and direction they seem hell bent on taking us. Resist we must, band together if need be. If retirement benefits go, many people will not be able to survive on their own. You are right we are the real power in the fight and fight we must, heaven. Together is the only means of survival.

(26,294 posts)Further, cotton burrs have very sharp ends which makes it very painful to pick. The baby's tender skin would have been stinging and smarting right off the bat. Disgraceful what has happened in this country over and over again because of greed.
