(90,549 posts)that became popular were based on black american music. most of them never got the recognition or any money . they were ignored in the US because of racism while foreign white artists who used their music ended up making it big.
Clapton himself also has a history of making some anti immigrant comments . it's too bad since i do like his music.
Adele is a huge Beyonce fan but i liked it that she went beyond just general compliments and specifically acknowledged the politics of it.
