America needs to realize that it's not all that...






Just think about the inherent implication of that question for a moment... Especially since they're posing it towards a black woman who was born in Africa.

It's pretty much a tacit admission that this country has always defined itself as a nation which was built on dehumanizing and subjugating black bodies.

For black people we must always being reminded that America's one true legacy is slavery and not as the "Home of the brave and the land of the free."

Does anyone actually think that they would as her this exact same question if she wasn't a black woman of African origin?

And they have the nerve to get mad whenever we point out the fact that America has never progressed from the legacy of slavery and Jim Crow.
