Three Kings Day to be observed (Mt Holly NJ)

MOUNT HOLLY — A nonprofit organization wants to make sure the Latino tradition of Three Kings Day continues to be celebrated in Burlington County.

Servicios Latinos has planned its annual Los Tres Reyes Magos celebration for 4 to 5:30 p.m. Friday in its office at Burlington County College's Mount Holly Center on Mill Street.

The organization assists county Latino families with various services, including education, employment,s housing, transportation and health issues. Two of its main goals this year are preventing diabetes and stressing the importance of diagnosing children with special needs, director Angela M. Gonzalez said.

Each year, Servicios Latinos holds an event in honor of the ancient celebration that commemorates the visit of Melchior, Caspar and Balthazar to the baby Jesus in Bethlehem. Most of the Spanish-speaking world still marks the occasion, with many Latin-American countries having their own customs of celebration ...
