Commemorate Native American Heritage Month with our expert panel of author and historians and remember the Native American women whose struggle for full citizenship and tribal sovereignty broadens our understanding of the suffrage movement beyond the ratification of the 19th Amendment.

Cathleen D. Cahill is author of the forthcoming Recasting the Vote: How Women of Color Transformed the Suffrage Movement.

Sally Roesch Wagner is editor of The Women's Suffrage Movement and author of Sisters in Spirit: Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) Influence on Early American Feminists, will discuss the authority and activism of Native American women within and beyond the suffrage movement.

Brenda J. Child [moderator] is Northrop Professor of American Studies at the University of Minnesota, who will share a clip from her recent documentary, Jingle Dress Dancers in the Modern World.
