"We Begin at the End" by Chris Whitaker

I'm just starting "We Begin at the End" by Chris Whitaker and this line struck me:

"You were cursed with pathological honesty, Walk. You carry weight you don't even see."

It reminds me of something my minister said. My friend died Dec. 29. We had a disagreement and had not been seeing each other. Pastor told me that I could not carry my weight and his too. That's probably why this line jumped out at me.

My mother called me that when I was a teen, "pathologically honest", which seems to be hard on others.

I'm hoping I can squeeze it into my TBR list for the end of the year, or that it will fit one of the challenge prompts I'll have next year.

Still waiting for a drop of the best bet for that, the 52 books-52 weeks challenge.
