David Paulides Missing 411 Series - Wow !!

My view of the reality of this life changed after reading these books. Paulides was a 20 yr police detective and only gives the facts in these missing person cases. If you haven't read or heard of Missing 411 series, the criteria for him to include a missing person case are: there are no mental health issues involved, no suicides or wanting to disappear, no domestic violence or animal predation is suspected. He only wants to include mysterious disappearances, ie. Search and Rescue people find no trace of the person after lots of searching, tracking dogs pick up no scent or lie down and refuse to track, and alot of times bad weather moves in shortly after the disappearance (obscuring tracks or evidence). I've read 6 of his books and am a changed person after reading them. We are not the apex predator we think we are.

2. FYI - Amazon re-sellers price gouge immensely on these books

Go to the Canam missing site and order them there for $25 each and not what Amazon sellers want to charge.

6. Every site I look at seems to grossly over price. Meh. Kinda disappointing for theory stuff.

I was just looking for some entertainment, not a subculture.

My area libraries do not have any of these, either.

I am careful what I buy. There is only so much room in my house. I buy mostly non-fiction. This sounds interesting, but I think I will pass.

5. This sounds like some George Noory Late night stuff, but I might get one just to see what the

hubbub is. I was trying to google the chronological order and it seems like maybe 2012 is the earliest. Do you know? What is a good starting point? I don't mind paying $25 bucks if I am entertained for a couple days. Dubious...yes. Interested....yes....

About 5 years ago a friend of a friend went missing in a Nt park, his name was Noah Pippin, you can read all about his case online. It was then that I got interested in how missing persons cases operated and were solved and found David Paulides. Regardless of how many of his theories you want to buy into, it's eye-opening to grasp the number of people who go missing each year and how often their cases go unsolved.

8. The first book is Missing 411:Western U.S.

2nd is Eastern U.S. ; 3rd is Missing 411: North America & Beyond ; next is Devil's in the Detail ; the 5th is my personal fave,Missing 411:Hunters. The best part of the Hunters book is the last chapter - mind blowing! They are $25 each.

FYI - Mr Paulides has alot of interviews on YouTube to watch. Also, just reading the reviews on Amazon is very very interesting!
