Saying the right thing priceless
Long time married guy always went out for a few beers with coworkers every Friday payday, always home
before suppertime. Was not a problem in the marriage, Friday morning he informed his wife there was a
retirement party for Joe after work and he'd eat there and be home probably around 8:00.
Saturday morning he woke up in bed with his dirty work clothes still on, found a note his wife had left him..
"Good morning sweetheart, hope you're feeling better, your favorite breakfast is in the oven staying warm.
I'm out shopping for a new coffee table, if the carpet cleaners get there before I do direct them to the
hallway carpet in front of the bathroom. XXXs & OOOs, your loving wife."
So he got the pancakes & eggs and sat at the kitchen table with his son.
"Your Mom is sure in a good mood for some reason today"
"I'm surprised she's not out filing for divorce since you tried to beat her up last night" the son replied
"Oh no, I've never hit your mother, what happened last night I don't remember a thing"
"Well dad I've never seen you drunk but you were last night. You got home around midnight, walked in and
just smiled at us and then fell on the coffee table breaking it in half. Then you crawled on all fours to the
bathroom and vomited all over the hallway carpet. Mom and I got most of it picked up, then I helped her
drag you to bed, that's when the big fight started."
"OK, what happened then? How'd it start?"
"Well mom told me to get your boots off and she'd get your jeans off, and when we started you started
kicking at me and swinging at mom yelling.............. LEAVE ME ALONE LADY I'M A MARRIED MAN"
Saying the right thing at the right time is priceless.
