The Air in My Way

Bend rhythm and bother blend
lamp post the receding hairline,
Everything changes but the eff you
everything bears a linkage
in the chain of chaos floundering
in missed steps and smoke of refusal;
Gets to strike out again and again
this being fair world playing fair....
Ugly little children
spending their youth learning disrespect
for all they ain't;
Shyness went out with `85 garbage
hissing faces at 10 years
hissing faces at 100
Faces hissing when the sun shines
called hell an old fashioned way
Hell is what you make
Tip-toeing from your last
Encounter with fate;
Dross on radio, played gently
to the thumping of hard hearts
in cold dress matter,
What a cold and joyless hell
this is turning out to be,
The people make it that way,
by remaining a fantastic fixation.
