Has anyone used BLURB to self publish?

I run a small theatre that is dedicated to helping fellow Kansas playwrights and I thought I'd copy a killer theatre in London (Finborough) who publishes the new work that they are producing with the first few pages serving as the program for that particular run of the show. The cost of the published play is a part of the ticket price. I liked that idea and liked the idea of getting the new work that I and other writers "published" under our theatre's banner, even though it isn't Dramatists or a big publisher.

I'm liking Blurb so far. Any thoughts?

1. I've used Wheatmark and Balboa Press and would recommend both. I looked into Amazon's

self-publishing arm and decided no. My interaction info is a couple of years old. Haven't heard of Blurb. Good luck. Your marketing idea sounds great.

2. No, but I just bought something from there.

I hadn't heard of them until recently. I found out that a book of poetry I wanted was published on BLURB and went to check it out. It has a nice enough interface, easy to use.

I assume it's run out of the UK somewhere, right? Because by default, the prices seem to have been listed in pounds, even though the author of the book I wanted and I both live in Colorado.

I used Amazon for a while for my book, and would advise you to RUN away from it. They absolutely suck.

3. We do a lot of self-publishing, for clients of all types

and we use Smashwords and Amazon. We're happy with both.

I've also reissued my own old books, and self-published my new ones, using those two platforms. No serious problems with either.
