The United States won silver Tuesday in womens gymnastics after star Simone Biles withdrew from the team final in Tokyo.
The Russian Olympic Committee won gold and the British team won bronze. The U.S. was hoping to clinch its third straight championship with a strong team, with Biles leading.
"Physically, I feel good," Biles told Hoda Kotb exclusively on NBC's "TODAY" show following her withdrawal. "Emotionally, it varies on the time and moment. Coming to the Olympics and being head star isn't an easy feat."
A statement from USA Gymnastics originally said the 24-year-old gymnast withdrew due to a medical issue.

The Japanese gymnast who fell off the high bar must surely wish he had stopped after his 3rd Olympic triumph.

If she hadn't withdrawn, I'm willing to bet the judges would have been pressured into shaving the US team's scores by enough to knock them off the podium altogether.
