Cowboys' Sham, 'I have friends who are Holocaust survivors. Tell them it didn't happen.'

Carroll ISD has apologized, and while that’s all well and good now is an ideal time as any to remind you that the sun rose in the east yesterday, that Abe Lincoln was once the president of the United States, and the Holocaust happened.

These are all facts.

To elaborate on this subject further I reached out to the longtime radio voice of the Dallas Cowboys, Brad Sham, and the radio voice of the Texas Rangers, Eric Nadel. Both men are Jewish.

Both are well aware of the story that broke late this week by NBC that featured Carroll ISD Gina Peddy, the executive director of curriculum, was recorded as she told a teacher, “Make sure that if, if, if you have a book on the Holocaust, that you have one that has opposing, that has the other perspective.”

Carroll superintendent Lane Ledbetter has since issued a statement apologizing, and said there are not sides to this subject.

Nonetheless, for citizens of the world, not just Jewish people, that this sort of sentence is ever uttered needs to be refuted, and shamed.

so I have a very personal connection to that particular horror...when I read "opposing perspective" my immediate thought was not denying the existence of the Holocaust but justifying the Holocaust..and what I found especially insulting was Ledbetter's incredibly stupid apology... she referred to the Holocaust as a "terrible event"...a ten car pile-up on an icy highway is a terrible event..the Holocaust was an unimaginable atrocity...

The lies and cover ups about real and verifiable events has reached it's apex with Holocaust denial. Any attempts to alter history to fit some sort of agenda need to be stopped immediately. This atrocity must never happen again and we must "Never Forget!"

Is THIS what we're in for now? Negating the horrors that HAPPENED, because it might make somebody LOOK BAD?????

SCREW that! It HAPPENED! We should be learning from it, not trying to excuse it or pretend it didn't happen or otherwise try to sand down all the rough edges. Those rough edges need to remain rough, and painful, and cutting, and bloody. Those wounds need to remain open, NOT covered up or "massaged" or pretended away, to save some people's "feelings."

but didn't she say that because Texas is forcing schools to have educational materials showing opposing views on every subject?

In my opinion, she's an idiot, but Texas Republicans are scaring these educators by forcing them to do this for fear of repercussions.

I wish there was a hell, and I was going there, so I could watch these fucking republicans burn.
