CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- "Superman," the sequel, began for the Carolina Panthers on Thursday when quarterback Cam Newton returned to the team he led to the Super Bowl in 2015 with a one-year contract.

The deal is worth up to $10 million for the remainder of the season, including $4.5 million guaranteed and a $1.5 million roster bonus, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Both were red zone touchdowns one was a run where he got flagged for screaming “I’m back”. On the next drive he threw a touchdown but Carolina is using PJ Walker mostly as their QB.

Cam will always have those first two tremendous plays today.

He can still move, but there's still a question of whether he can throw the long ball. He never really showed that in New England last season and he didn't attempt any 20+ yard passes today. He prefers to dish off at close range.
