From death threats to corporate backlash, Russian NHL players 'in a very difficult spot'

Russian players have faced online threats and alleged verbal abuse, prompting the NHL and some teams to bolster security.

Sponsors have backed away from their connection to Russian players, while lower leagues have limited their participation.

From death threats to corporate backlash, Russian NHL players ‘in a very difficult spot’
The NHL's several dozen Russian players are some of the most visible athletes from a nation the world has shunned.

There's been a lot of pressure on them to speak out against Putin. It's commonplace in North America to expect the people to add their voices to a cause, but these Russian athletes/celebrities have family back at home who will quite possibly be at risk of harm if there are anti-Putin statements coming out of their mouths.

I put myself in Ovechkin's shoes (or skates) and I would be very cautious about condemning the shithead Russian president publicly when I know it could consequently be the last time I ever see some of my relatives back in the homeland because they suddenly go missing.

Ovechkin has been a Putin dick smoker for years.
In 2017, he launched a "Putin Team" group to support Putins re-election, (as if that was ever in doubt):

Ovechkin and every other Russian hockey player should be deported. They play in the NHL and earn $$MILLIONS in our capitalist society while their "hero" is murdering women and children by the thousands in Ukraine. They are safely tucked away from the horror.

If they are so "pro Putin", then why not join the fight to "de-Nazify" Ukraine??? Everyone knows the answer to that question.

Ovechkins' "opinion" to Putins murderous rampage was pathetic. The fact that Ovechkin is a dumb jock with no more intelligence than the imbecile Dotard is no excuse. Dominick Hasek said it best about Ovechkin:

"What?!? Not only an abilist, a chicket shit, but also a liar!!"

The Washington Capitals have BANNED Ukrainian flags from home games!! WHY?? It might hurt poor widdle Alexs feewings??
BULLSHIT. These Russian Putin loving scumbags need to be kicked out of America NOW!!

Cut them some slack?? FUCK THAT.
