They werent put on Centre (which it should have been because it was the most competitive) because TOTB didnt want the Royal Box patrons to have to subjected to these two.

(102,500 posts)I started listening to the radio, and they were a bit critical of Kyrgios until Tsitsipas hit the ball at the spectator. They then sided with Kyrgios, with at least one agreeing Tsitsipas should have lost by default, like Djokovic once did - he just got a warning. Then Tsitsipas hit the ball (out of play) close to Kyrgios, and they suggested if K had seen how close it was, he would have jumped the net.
I switch to TV, and the commentators there are saying T is hard done by. Finally, after K's underarm serve and T hitting it close to the spectators again, seemingly on purpose, T gets a point deduction - and the TV commentators finally turn against him when he whines about it.

(14,322 posts)Tsitsipas should have been defaulted. I was watching the BBC coverage where they were having hemorrhages over Nick's behavior (and yes, some of it is atrocious), but Tsitsipas let Nick get into his head and became completely unhinged.
I do think that Kyrgios is immensely talented and would have been a top player the past 5 or so years were it not for how crazy/self-destructive he is. I also think he's good for the sport because villains get eyeballs and tennis needs more eyeballs, especially in the US where we seem to have a fondness for boorishness--McEnroe clucking about how disrespectful to the game Nick is has to be one of the most absurd things ever considering people said precisely the same thing about Conners, Nastase, and him.
