The brands been in retreat for years. As Jaguar prepares to end production of all its current models, and with no certain replacements in the pipeline, theres reason to wonder whether the 102-year-old British brand will ever come back.
The F-type, a delightful little convertible the sort of car for which Jag was once renowned goes out of production next year. No replacement is planned.
The rest of Jags lineup is on borrowed time, too. Experts who track vehicle development also expect the XE, XF and F-Pace to end production next year, leaving only the electric I-Pace, which might soldier on until 2027.

Submariner
(12,671 posts)in the 70s pumping gas and pushing car washes, a Jag XKE driver asked me to check his oil level.
Not a drop of oil showed up on the dipstick until the 9th quart of oil was poured in. It took 12 quarts of oil to reach the dipstick full level. Apparently it leaked and burnt oil he said.
With problems like that it's no wonder Jag is in trouble.

(57,517 posts)Not at the same time, and as a second owner. You had to take care of them properly. The Lucas electrical was the real problem to always pay attention to with them.
Sad to see them go. They were beautiful cars back then, and fast. The current crop of Jags look like every other car on the road. The small F-Type is the exception.

My old LandCruiser had an 8 quart sump plus two for the remote original cartridge filter.
