SF Giants come back with huge burst of runs, tie Series at 2-2

With apologies to the stats crowd, an all-wild-card World Series has to have an element of pluck. Who outgrinds whom? Were it completely about talent, these two teams would have won their divisions, no?

With their bid for another championship slipping from their grasp in Game 4 Saturday night, the Giants channelled whatever fortitude they could muster and tied the World Series at two wins apiece when they rallied from three runs down and steamrolled the Royals 11-4.

The World Series now becomes a best-of-three, with Madison Bumgarner hoping Sunday night to give the Giants a 3-2 lead to stick in the overhead compartment for a flight back to Kansas City and Game 6.

A Giants offense that looked so tepid in the Game 2 and 3 losses, had 16 hits and scored nine runs from the fifth inning on against the weaker end of the Kansas City bullpen.
