Adrian Beltre (first ballot), Todd Helton and Joe Mauer. They join manager Jim Leyland, who was selected earlier by the Contemporary Baseball Era committee. All 4 will be inducted in a ceremony on July 21.

1. Colorado padded stats and the hall of very good strike again

Huge discrepancy between home and away stays playing in Coors field. Even paying at Coors he didn't get to 1500 rbi or 3000 hits.

Beltre may have used roids, but is not a jerk like Bonds so we let him in. We aren't sure because bud selig and others selectively leaked names from the positive tests.

The inconsistency of the baseball hall of fame just makes me sick.

Colorado home stats.345/.607/.952

Away stats .287/.469/.855

When he was first eligible someone on MLB radio said he had a bigger difference in home away stats than anyone in the HOF. Didn't double check but those guys usually get their facts straight.

Corner infielder with .855 likely doesn't get in hof.

4. Helton is above average for 1B players in HOF

His wins above replacement (WAR) and JAWS numbers are above average for HOF 1B but he did seem to benefit from playing at Coors field. My man Joey Votto is listed higher than Helton so I will have my fingers crossed when he finally goes up for the vote.

5. Could Be Right

Not fair to compare anyone to the Babe, but the home-away split differential for Ruth was .008.
Helton's differential is nearly 8x that.
Seems like a lot to me.
