Aroid hits 660th HR - 300 or so on steroids?

Aroid is not a record holder in baseball, he's in the record books as a roider, and that's all the people need to know. Mays, Aaron, Ruth, Mantle, Killebrew, Maris and the like did not use drugs to enhance their play in the game of baseball. Bonds, Aroid, McGwire, Sosa and the other roiders I did not mention, are all asterisk players in the game of baseball. *CHEATER

Babe Ruth is still the HR king!!

winning back fans...maybe Skankees fans, but most of us probably think his rejuvenation is that he's doping again because he is an addict.

I think history is a little more clouded than simply throwing out a few guy's stats.

According to Ken Caminiti, half the league was using steroids. That means pitchers had advantages as well. Clouds things a little in my mind.

Further, PED's go back to the beginning of baseball. See:

https://sports.vice.com/en_us/article/a-brief-history-of-performance-enhancing-drugs

Amphetamines were big in the era I grew up watching. Pud Galvin's elixur!

A-Rod is a known liar and cheat, even after baseball changed the rules to outlaw steroids.

However, I am not so sure I can condemn all of the guys who did steroids as they were not illegal for a long time, and, like amphetamines, oftentimes the teams knew and may have encouraged there use for all we know.

Just my opinion.

who played football. He insisted the steroids he used had no long term effects because of his rotation schedule. He would use for a number of days (or weeks) and then swear off them for the same period or shorter period. He was a smart guy, but not a good way to measure what he was saying. I think he was just hoping that his off times would have no long term effects.
Anyhow, speed was a big drug back in the old days and still holds some sway. I hear some of the old timers critical of Hank Aaron and others regarding speed.

Performance enhancing Stadiums.

Yankees built the stadium so Ruth could hit HR's.

Braves moved the fences in so Aaron would break Ruth's record.

Hypocritical to honor one form of cheating but not another.

Here's to A-Rod becoming the all-time HR CHAMP!!
