So you can't fire the team - is it time to make Farrell the example? Red Sox in free fall..

What a fascinating situation - though the Sox won it all in 2013, they tanked in 2011, bottomed out in 2012, tanked again last year and are heading for the cellar once more.

Pitchers are yelling at managers. Players are acting out or vanishing from media. Farrell is calling out his players. The team is a very expensive mess.

So what to do? Clean house? Bridge year (again)? How to NOT impact the talented kids - Bard got messed up on a bad team, so did Middlebrooks - possibly Bradley Jr (exiled in AAA) - and Betts, Bogaerts and Swihart are stuck on this stinking ship.

Fascinating to be sure - but what should the next move be? I think Farrell has to go. And perhaps Sandoval and Ramirez. And move all the dead wood (Breslow, Ogando, Nava, etc). Call up the kids and just let them play.
