First Game of World Series....at a critical play, the fan caught the ball before it may of bounced off the wall...Ruled as Fan Interference... Yea, escorted out but then what???...Will he be banned from baseball games, a fine????

Running onto the field will cost you a lot in fines and legal representation, a likely life-time stadium ban, and possible jail time.

(13,655 posts)My husband died two years ago and was a major baseball fan....played minor league back in the day he did....so I didn't know who to ask my baseball question...

(31,816 posts)Penalties for running onto the field apparently are different according to state law (maybe local law too), so perhaps there are additional regional penalties applicable to fan interference.

Sorry, can't answer your question, but I don't think it changed the course of the game.
And I believe that was in Game two, not Game one.
