There doesn't appear to be a league, at least from my Google search of this forum. Why the hell not? We had a successful fantasy football season.
I'm determined to round up enough participants to form a 12 to 14 team DU fantasy baseball league. I'll even organize the darn thing (for the first time, so be warned!). Probably through Yahoo because I'm familiar with that site from having played before.
Please indicate below if you're interested. If the response is poor, I'm going to be sending lots of DU private messages to the regulars in the baseball and sports threads.
C'mon boys! Step up!

(20,142 posts)It will be another 3 or 4 weeks before we actually hold the draft. I just want to build interest now and make sure we have the numbers.
I'll probably poll you guys/gals as well to see what your preferences are for the settings (which stats should count).

(20,142 posts)Well, some fellow players might razz you, but that's all part of the fun. Give and take.
Will be interesting to see if Gary Sanchez suffers a sophomore jinx.

Your hopes of finishing first, however, that's shooting a little too high!

(3,827 posts)Baseball is life for me-- The MLB channel is on my TV every day.
Btw I'm a die-hard Red Sox fan. Hope that info doesn't taint my chances of being in your league.

(20,142 posts)It's going to come down to Boston and Cleveland in the AL.
Chicago repeats in the NL, IMO.

(3,827 posts)If the starting pitching comes around this season then there is an excellent chance they will win the WS-- I'm curious to see how Pablo looks this year- He's got a lot to prove against the naysayers in Boston. lol
Cleveland's going to be around for a while-- They're pitching staff (if healthy) will be in the race.
And I agree with you on the Cubs chances- I love watching Bryant play- His swing, attitude, and talent are what MLB needs for its survival.

(20,142 posts)Mookie Betts is considered the #2 fantasy draft player by some fantasy leagues, behind Trout. Will be hard for Mookie to equal or surpass his stats from last season, which was absolutely amazing, but you never know.
Also, there are a lot of analysts expecting Benintendi to make a splash this year.

(3,827 posts)If you watched any of the games with him last year then you know what I'm talking about. The kid has a great eye- I think he has the potential to be on the Wade Boggs/Ted Williams level.
Not sure about drafting Betts that high-- I doubt he will have the same numbers as last year.
I'll read up on Yahoo to get some ideas about my 1st draft pick- Each fantasy season I try to draft a solid pitching staff- Pitching is essential in H2H leagues.
