If someone had said Washington would score three runs total in games 3-5 after their performance in the first two games, I would have thought they were nuts.

Excellent job regrouping by the Astros.

reporting on the Taubman incident *by identifying the people responsible for that smear* -- and not merely saying "Oops, we apologize" -- they ARE the same swamp you say they are now leaving.

Accountability matters.

They tried to smear a journalist with a reputation for accurate reporting, and when they got boxed into a corner by too many corroborating accounts, they blurt out a quick "So sorry!" and expect everyone to forget. No, no, no. EXPLAIN IT. Explain why you wrong accused this journalist of -- to borrow a term -- "fake news." Maybe, MAYBE you can earn acceptance of your apology that way.

Until then, this person with no rooting interest in MLB will root against the Astros every time, unless they are playing someone with even-more-scum-baggy-management.

There are myriad ways their smearing of Apstein could have come about -- erroneous information, poor judgment, misplaced loyalty, active malice, etc. Until they come clean about how specifically that occurred, their apology is self-serving and weak.
