But Leo Durocher never won a World Series as a manager. Not one. I was always disappointing Leo never moved west to manage either the Giants or the Dodgers. Say what you want about him, but he was entertaining to watch.

Would have, Could have, Should have been.

My buddy, Kid Ross, honored "The Catch" on Willie's 53 birthday, May 6, 1984, by throwing up this artwork

"Willie Mays: The Catch" as it first appeared on a hillside just south of Petaluma, CA.

Then it traveled to Wyoming, when he moved there.

Then it was sent east:
Thom Ross' Willie Mays installation that was put up at the site of the old Polo Grounds in New York City on the 50-year anniversary of Mays' over-the-shoulder catch in the 1954 World Series. The five figures are now in a private collection in Burlington, Vt
