Pressure is on Brandon Belt. Next year Bart/Posey can alternate catching and 1st base. Bet Zaidi is trying to unload him. Tough sell -- he's under contract through 2021 and due $17,200,000.

3. And they can use Pablo Sandoval as a super-double-secret backup

Not many people appreciate Pablo Sandoval started as a catcher. Curiously, Pablo Sandoval had played EVERY infield position except catcher. Put me in coach, I'm ready to play today

Sandoval really likes Bart; he ran out and snagged Bart's 'first hit' ball and ran it to the MLB authenticator, beaming. With Posey on hiatus, I wonder if Sandoval, in the vacuum, is feeding Bart with pearls of wisdom. That could be troublesome.


And speaking of troublesome, Brandon Belt's slumps are just that. He's always had slumps, but the are happening more frequently and lasting longer. Ugly.
