Front Office What The Hell

The Arizona Diamondback traded away Max Scherzer, Trevor Bauer, and passed on Mike Trout in the draft--twice.

That is a combined 3 MVPs and 3 Cy Youngs.

To the rest of MLB from the Dbacks--you're welcome.

the only thing Nutting had was $$$$$$$$$$ - and he wanted to make more of it.
McClatchy was strapped - couldn't raise enough capital to make it grow.
Nutting has it - but won't invest more to make the "product" better.
He doesn't have to - the TV and league contracts cover his expenses every year - he's got a "sweetheart" deal with the stadium - and even when they lose (DAMN, they're good at that!) HE MAKES MONEY!!!!!!

Count Nutting's 11 full seasons and you get 921 wins for an 83.7 average.

He blew up that last good squad, but that is the small market M.O. now. let's see what comes out of your farm with those prospects and picks he got in the fire sale.

On the other hand, McClatchy never kept any good players around and treated the franchise like a cattle ranch.

Except for signing Jeremy Beernuts for some incomprehensible reason, he was allergic to free agency too

Not saying that Nutting is a great owner, but McClatchey was a disaster

There is talk of building a stadium on the outskirts of Phoenix. This had quieted lately because of COVID.

The stadium they have now has the appeal of an airplane hangar.
