(37,734 posts)I dialed in the game a little after it started in the first inning when they were replacing Littell. What the HEY? The Giants were down four runs in the top of the first with NO outs!

(37,734 posts)And Boy howdy, the kayaker was jazzed with his prize, especially after being robbed of Duggar's earlier splash by the jerk with the net.
Gabe Kapler is the man with a plan, and I suspect the citizens of Philadelphia are ready to tar and feather the Phillies front office for letting Kapler go.

(31,775 posts)But Kapler especially.
After they returned home from their dismal Washington trip coaches set up two pitching machines, one to throw fastballs and the other sliders. They cranked them up to full speed too, a rarity. Players could take a quick session with fastballs then switch to sliders.
Apparently these machines can also be adjusted to match the release point of any pitcher they're about to face. Pretty cool. So Monday night they produce 5 runs on 14 hits and Tuesday night they produce 9 runs on 12 hits (with 8 bbs), this after a four game Washington series in which they scored a total of 4 runs on 17 hits total (with 1 or 2 bb total).
Kapler turned a tired, listless team around over night.
You kind of don't want to mess with this chemistry, you know? But La Stella, Dickerson and Longoria will soon be off the IL, along with Ruf a little later.

(37,734 posts)My Magic 8-Ball is befuddled and confused as to why they dropped a boatload of games they should have won.
They've lost eight of their last ten games!
