I was pretty nervous until I read the USA Today predictions:

All 5 columnists pick the Dodgers, 4 of them predicting blow out Dodger wins
I feel much better now

The Dodgers SHOULD win. But the Cardinals did win 3 of the 7 games played during the season.
The fact it's ONE GAME is what's scary. Sure, in a series, the Dodgers would be favored, but when it comes down to just 9 innings, a lot can go wrong.
I won't feel comfortable until the Dodgers have a several run lead late in the game.

(7,530 posts)As much as I would like to beat LA, I am perfectly fine to see the Cards do the deed.

(31,798 posts)Dodgers bullpen is vulnerable., so work the count on Scherzer to get pitch total up. Cards could pull it off
Who to face: Cards or Dodgers? Tough call.
Scherzer starting tonight means he wouldn't be available to start against S.F. until game three, should L.A. win. Kershaw is out, so is Muncy (both Giants killers). S.F. has an advantage. And no team in baseball knows the Dodgers better than the Giants.
However, Cards/Giants would be a great series too. And Wainwright would be out until game three as well.

Our bullpen has been good since mid-August, but the starting pitching is scary. For us, not so much for the opponents.
Lester looks much better in front of the Cards defense since the trade but he didn't get 6 years younger over the summer.
Mikolas is shaky. JA Happ is all smoke and mirrors. Kim is in the bullpen and Flaherty is not ready for more than an inning.
That leaves Dakota Hudson who has looked sharp in limited innings since coming back. But he's coming back from Tommy John Surgery, so yeah... not ideal
But we only won 8 games in June and were under .500 at the ASG.
I had given up on the season long ago, so everything happening now is gravy
Go Cards!

Good luck.
