Related: About this forumAs a fan of Cleveland baseball I was really hoping for the Spiders...
...not really thrilled with Guardians; the script or logo. However, I do like the new "C" hat.
What would you have called them? (please be kind)

(26,727 posts)I wasn't aware of that.
I have been paying attention to the Washington football team. I honestly think they should have gone with the Washington Azaleas, or the Washington Cherry Blossoms, but alas no one ever listens to me.
Back to your post. I think The Spiders would be a WONDERFUL name for a team.
Oh, and don't get me started on team uniforms. They mostly look so much alike that I can't begin to tell teams apart. Please, please, please, choose colors other than blue.

Guardians is banal, and a forced attempt to create civic pride or identity, similar to when the city referred to itself as "The North Coast" and "The Best Location in the Nation." No one buys that sort of crap.
There's little cadence to "Cleveland Guardians" as well. As I logo designer I critique the new look as rushed, amateurish, and already dated looking.
