And the biggest story for me is Steven Kwan in Cleveland.
I'm a fan of a National League team so I don't see much AL ball, although I try to keep informed. BUT...
Even if I wasn't trying, it'd be hard to miss this kid's arrival in the bigs
In an era of uppercut swings and taking big cuts no matter the count, this kid is doing a first-rate Tony Gwinn impersonation.
The only swing and miss in his 1st 9 games was a foul tip into the catcher's mitt. So technically it was not a swing and miss, although it counts as his 1st whiff.
Fun player to root for

(31,798 posts)I imagine the rest of the league is scouting Kwan closely. Lets see how he adjusts.
Another big story out of Cleveland is first baseman Owen Miller. Hes proving to be the toughest out in the lineup.

(37,795 posts)I'm guessing his mind was still in the batting cage
Tied top of the eighth, bases loaded, one out, potential routine double play, then BAM, 1st baseman, Miller was caught counting spiders...or asleep at the wheel... or something.
Good account and video here:

I don't know if yesterdays bonheaded play was the reason, but Owen Miller is playing 2nd base today

(31,798 posts)defense is having problems in Game 3 as well. Guardians are a young team coming off an abbreviated spring. I think everyone will expect the D to play sharper soon.
