Giants routed by Dodgers as Puig ties triples record

Visions on a warm July evening at AT&T Park:

Dodgers crushing balls to the deepest parts of the yard and then blazing a path to third base. Zack Greinke highlighting the last letter of his first name and the sixth letter of his last name.

Yasiel Puig tied the modern major-league record with three triples, the Dodgers tied their franchise record with five triples, and Greinke racked up 10 strikeouts - including four in one inning - as Los Angeles thumped the Giants 8-1.

San Francisco's lead in the NL West dwindled to a half-game.
