With Belt back on DL, Giants fall to Royals
Kansas City --
"Frustrating" and "disappointing."
Bruce Bochy pulled those words out of his managerial adjective book to describe the recurring concussion symptoms that landed Brandon Belt back on the seven-day disabled list Friday and again prevented the Giants from fielding a team with both the first baseman and center fielder Angel Pagan.
Bochy could have recycled those words after the Giants' 4-2 loss to the Royals, a game they gave away at the plate, on the bases and in the field.
The Giants did about as little as a team can with 12 hits, including a five-hit third inning in which two runners were thrown out by right fielder Nori Aoki - one, Hunter Pence, when he overslid third base.
The Giants then facilitated the Royals' two-run tie-breaking rally in the sixth against Madison Bumgarner when first baseman Michael Morse and second baseman Matt Duffy committed errors on the same play.
