(5,362 posts)They do, however, actually somewhat capture San Diego. By which I mean no offense toward that great city - but those colors aren't for me.
Even worse, the link says that the Padres are wearing them for every home game for the rest of the season. That's just goofy, irreverent in a bad way, and unneeded. Baseball is supposed to be about tradition, not wearing weird flashy alternate colors for most of your home schedule. The NFL restricts the wearing of their gimmick jerseys to once or twice a season if memory serves. MLB, take a hint.

(24,790 posts)at every Tuesday night home game. It's just a coincidence but for those that are superstitious, they have an incredible win/loss record when wearing them. I don't know the current count but at one point a few weeks ago they were 11/1 when wearing them.

When the Giants first came out with their black jerseys, I really liked them. I wanted one, but I figured there was no way I'm paying $80 for a shirt probably made in some third-world country. I looked on their merchandise website and they were asking $275 for them. How naive of me to think they would only be $80.

(3,571 posts)I only buy MLB apparel if it's traditional looking. Maybe kids and younger people would wear the loud colors, but it's not for me. I like the classic pinstripes. Yup, I'm an old fart now
