Last night the Cardnals won 4-3.

The Phillies are 1/2 game out of the second wild card spot and have won 9 of their last 10. Hottest team in baseball jointly with the Dodgers right now.

The Yankees are decimated with injuries right now. The starting pitching and bullpen are in tatters. Lost King for the year, Severino has pitched twice, and the only pitcher who's holding their own is Cortes, and only for six innings. Cole is getting mugged every game now, and he's the "Ace".

Stanton and Rizzo have been out of the lineup, Stanton since the All-Star game and Rizzo is in for a few games then out for twice as many with back problems. That's 52 home runs sitting on the bench. Hicks, Donaldson, Torres, and Benintendi are all in major slumps. That leaves three players in the lineup who are meeting expectations. They were extremely fortunate to win all those games in the first third of the season.

Brian Cashman must have gotten a lobotomy for his birthday. His "trades" have been anything but.

You're playing a very weak Yankees team right now, so don't go thinking St. Louis is a dominant team. M'kay?
