Cleveland Guardians, near the end of a hellacious stretch, sweep the White Sox

Magic number to win the A.L. Central reduced to 5.

18 games in 17 days. Three more on the road until they get a day of rest. So far the team is 13-2.

Team made up three weather delays from earlier in the season.

7-1 vs the Twins, 3-1 vs Chisox, 3-0 vs the Angels.

Terry Francona and staff have done a masterful job managing the pitching and field staffs. Strong contender for Manager of the Year IMO.

Strong case for Chris Antonetti, President of Baseball Operations, as MLB Executive of the Year.

The youngest team in MLB. The fourth lowest total payroll.

This was supposed to be a “rebuild” year. Chicago was favored to win the division. No one gave any thoughts to a Guardians team beyond the name change. (which angered many fans). This team literally shot up out of nowhere, with their solid starting, good hitting, lights out bullpen, and a plethora of talent coming up from the minors.

Yet national sports news are skipping this story over entirely in favor of endless analysis of Aaron Judge….

Cleveland baseball team, regardless of how far they get in the post-season. Never thought I’d love a team better than the 94 or 16 teams, but these guys play the best baseball I’ve ever watched. They are relentless!

They really have a good chemistry. Cheering each other on, no big egos. We Cleveland fans haven’t had a team with an explosive offense like this one in many years!
